We love salmon but we are getting bored with the usual teriyaki grilled salmon that we usually prepare at home. Together with my children, we explored and discovered a one-pot delicious salmon recipe. We actually created a new dish out of what we can find in the fridge. How adventurous is that? LOL!
Keen to know how to prepare this easy and quick one-pot salmon dish? Here are the ingredients required and it serves 4 people:
– salt to season
– pepper to season
– 4 salmon fillets
– balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon
– 3-4 cloves of garlic, diced
– 1 yellow onion, diced
– 1 small packet of milk
– 30g or 2 tablespoons butter
– olive oil
– a bowl of seaweed soup / chicken stock
The kids couldn’t wait! We turned on the AMC hot pan prime to grade 3 to heat up the pan. While waiting for the pan to heat up, they started applying salt and pepper on the salmon and gave it a good massage.
Once that is done, we seared (burn or scorch the surface of) the salmon with olive oil to the meat window then set aside. Next, we prepared the sauce by melting the butter. Add the garlic, sauté for a further minute and add the onion. Sauté until fragrant. Add the packet of milk and the bowl of stock/broth (we’re using seaweed soup here) to the pan; bring to a boil and cook for a further minute.
You may add in a teaspoon of cornstarch to thicken the sauce but we skipped that. We placed the salmon fillets back into the pan and cook till the meat window on both sides. Once the audiotherm started beeping, open up and voila! The one-pot salmon dish is done!
Serve it while it’s hot! This is an easy dinner recipe that even kids can cook. Furthermore, this is healthy eating for children as well.
