Welcome to the week of letter S activities for preschoolers. Follow us and see what we did for our letter S week!
I wrote a huge S on the white board and showed it to mei mei. We made the sound sss…. together and rapped together with the letter s! Yes, rapped! It was fun and mei mei enjoyed it so much that she repeated it a few times before I could settle her down and start doing some “paperwork”.
We had some fingers exercising activity where mei mei made the letter s with the playdoh she has.
Now is time for some writing exercises.
She also did matching of objects starting with letter s and colourings.
Her favourite activity is the pin punching. She did the same worksheets 3 times before she’s willing to move on to the next activity.
Letter sorting is next with spider’s legs. Good way to train motor skills and observation skills too!
She took some time searching for letter s in the picture. Not forgetting adding some drawings to it as well.
Our last activity was snowy sky. That’s what she called. She wanted to decorate the huge S with some “snow” and so we did with some cotton-pretend-to-be-snow.
We had great time with letter S. Here’s a summary of what we learn today:
– recognise letter Ss
– train hand-eye coordination and control
– self regulation of attention and behaviour
– train fine motor skills
– train phonemic awareness
– train independence
– train creativity
– building of confidence
PS:
