Last Saturday was the Singapore World Water Day Community Carnival happening at Bedok Reservoir. We were honoured to be able to take part in the event.
Our morning started pretty early at 7am. Smarties helped out to set up the booth. When it was done, mei mei even assisted on explaining what our booth was about to 2 kids and a daddy. She was really serious in her talk though. Look at her face! But I love her confidence on speaking up to people.
We had a little time before the event actually starts and so we went around to have a look. Look at this huge poster decorated using bottle caps! Isn’t it beautiful?
Gor gor was busy making some boats to let it float and at the same time beautify our new clean Singapore River. So where is our old Singapore River? Read on to find out. 😉
Before we could “tour” further, the event was about to start. In a pretty short time, long snaking queue started forming at our booth! Kids and adults were all coming to make a boat and/or “clean up” our old Singapore River.
That’s our old Singapore River!
We love the vibe from the crowd. Even though the weather was hot and humid, everyone was really focus on getting their “job” (cleaning up the river and making boats to beautify our new river) done. Even ah gongs and ah mas (grandpas and grandmas) came over to have fun too!
Ah gong was really focus but after he had cleaned up the river. He presented us a huge sparkling smile. 🙂
During the event there was an award presentation too! Let’s take a look at our glamorous shot with Mr Ridzuan Ismail, Director, Catchment and Waterways Department, PUB who presented us the award.
The event was a huge success! We had loads of fun with everyone who came to take part at our booth. We hope to see you again soon!
