Holiday is here and having trouble trying to think what to do with your child/children? Then you better check out this fun family board game from ToyTag called Quoridor. The moment smarties received the game, they were super excited and attracted to its bright color. They quickly unboxed it and started exploring the game board. The setup time was quick and smarties learned the ropes of playing the game rather quickly.
What exactly is Quoridor about?
What we have gotten here is the kid’s version of the game. The objective of this game is to reach the square opposite your own baseline and grab your cheese. The game allows a minimum of 2 players and maximum up to 4 players. If you want any more players? Maybe you want to create your own mouse, cheese, and fences. It is a strategy game that requires critical/logical thinking and problem-solving. A good way to train the kids up on that and their patience too.
Each player gets to move either the mouse or put up the fence at one time either horizontally or vertically, forward or backward. The mouse is not able to jump over the fence as it is only allowed to move around the fence. The first person to grab their colored cheese is the winner.
I would say Quoridor is an awesome and light-hearted board game for the family. Smarties love it so much that they played game after game. It kept them occupied for a period of time too. The bright colored board and the cute little mice and cheeses make it so attractive for the kids even I am attracted to it too!
Smarties love ganging up and trying out strategies to block the adults whenever we play with them. It got kind of trickier when all 4 players play together. Their biggest enemy is their daddy and smarties will try means and ways to block him as much as they can. It got them thinking really hard! Haha!
Recommendation?
We definitely recommend this game for family fun and to train the kids on their thinking as well as problem-solving skills. The learning curve for this game is easy and is awesome for spending family time together.
